Moving from Binom
How Binom concepts, tokens and redirects map to TDS.SO, and a migration plan.
Moving makes sense if you mostly use Binom to distribute traffic: rules by geo, device and tokens, bot filtering, many domains. TDS.SO has no conversions, postbacks, offers or costs — keep those in your affiliate network or tracker. There is no import; everything is moved by hand.
Concepts
| Binom | TDS.SO |
|---|---|
| Campaign | Link: domain/slug or the whole domain |
| Shared campaign settings | Template |
| Rule | Stream: top to bottom, first match wins; a stream without conditions never fires |
| Default paths | main URL, the Everything else row |
| Path and offer weights | URL shares inside a stream or the main URL |
| Normal Rotation / Fix On | How to choose → At random / Keep the same |
| Binom Protect, bot rule | the template's Filter Level and Bot Action, checked before streams |
Almost all rule criteria have conditions with the same name: country, region, city, ISP, IP, proxy, device, model, browser, OS, language, referrer, day of week, and URL Parameter instead of tokens. A stream's conditions are joined with AND (All) or OR (Any); values of one condition are comma-separated. The only operators are is and is not, there are no regular expressions, and time is in UTC. There is no equivalent for Continent, Connection Type, Datacenter or Smart Rotation. All conditions and formats are in the conditions reference.
Tokens
| Binom | TDS.SO |
|---|---|
{clickid} | {click_id}, 32 characters |
{country} | {country} or {country_code} — country code |
{user_agent}, {language} | {ua}, {lang} |
{os_name}, {browser_name} | {os}, {browser} |
{device_type} | {device}: pc, mobile, tablet |
{t1}…{t30} | {name} of any GET parameter, for example {sub1} for ?sub1=abc |
{ip}, {city}, {region}, {isp}, {referer} are the same. There are no campaign tokens. The full list is in the reference.
Redirects
| Hide referrer in Binom | TDS.SO |
|---|---|
| None | 302 Temporary |
| Meta refresh / Double meta refresh | Meta Refresh / Double Meta Refresh |
There is no equivalent of Smart meta refresh. More in Redirect types.
Key differences
- Your server runs only a web server that passes traffic to TDS.SO. Settings and statistics live in the dashboard; nothing needs updating on the server.
- The template's redirect type, bot filter and Parameter Forwarding apply to links immediately, while the URL, Bot URL and streams are copied into a link when it is created. See Template and links.
- A link is looked up by the first path segment, so you cannot reproduce an old path with
/inside it. - Statistics are counted in Moscow time (MSK), stream conditions in UTC. Changes in the dashboard take effect immediately.
Plan
- For each campaign, write down the domain, path, rules, default paths, bot settings, redirect mode and tokens.
- Go through the first setup. Install the server on a separate VPS: the installer stops nginx and Apache, so Binom campaigns on the same server will stop opening.
- Build templates using the tables above. Save repeated streams with the Save all streams as a set button.
- On a pilot domain: point the A record to the new server, add the domain, create links with the old path (Slug after / → Custom) or Just /. Until a link exists, the domain returns
404. - Test the redirect, streams and bots, then move the remaining domains. Turn Binom off once clicks on it stop, and export your reports beforehand.
